What we aim to do:

  • Facilitate a more sophisticated, honest, healthy and meaningful debate about intimacy.
  • Bring together conversations and people who have experience, practice and ideas in these areas.
  • Increase the visibility of these topics and bring them in to the centre of debate, to acknowledge there influence and impact.
  • Demonstrate the value for conditions that facilitate intimacy to be created more widely.
  • Curate and collate a vocabulary that supports people to find an authentic awareness, expression and composition of their intimate lives.

Themes that are of particular interest to us are:

  • Positioning the experience of intimacy as giving us opportunities and challenges to expand ourselves: in developing our empathy, vulnerability, openness, compassion, self-awareness, honest communication, resilience, reciprocity, courage, imagination, playfulness, adaptability, acceptance, mindfulness, curiosity and capacity to take risk.
  • How intimacy connects people to their emotional and physical self and to one another.
  • Broadening how intimacy is seen – focussing on intimacy with ourselves, with others but also the nature of our inter-connected world.
  • The potential of intimacy as a source of life-long learning about ourselves and others.
  • How all of the above connect in to current topics, approaches, models and movements in Social and Cultural Innovation, Open Innovation, Eudaimonia and Positive Psychology.
